This year Coastal Bend Day of Giving will be November 14, 2023, and Rockport-Fulton is proud to be one of the 54 participating charities. We are excited that this year’s match will be $22,200. That means that we will receive matching funds for donations up to that amount – if we receive donations totaling at least $22,200. We need your help to make that happen! Donations will be accepted online at the Coastal Bend Day of Giving website (http://coastalbenddayofgiving.org). The opportunity to give begins with early giving on November 6 through November 13 and culminates on November 14 – the Day of Giving. To ensure that you are donating to Rockport-Fulton Good Samaritans, type Rockport in the search box, and then select Rockport-Fulton Good Samaritans from the Rockport charities. Credit/debit cards and electronic checks will be accepted. Low-income families in Aransas County face daily challenges. The continuing effects from COVID-19, low-paying jobs, and the ever-increasing cost of living is making it difficult for them to meet their basic needs. We have seen a significant increase of people who have never had to ask for help before are now being forced to do so as their income does not pay their expenses. They come to us for help, and your donations make it possible for us to do so. Help us help others – donate during the Coastal Bend Day of Giving!

Good Samaritans Volunteers are here to help by giving the gift of hope.
Mission Statement
To provide short-term assistance to Aransas County families and individuals having emergency needs for food, shelter, utilities, medicine, clothing, and transportation.
About us
Rockport-Fulton Good Samaritans, Inc. is a organization established by volunteers, built by volunteers, and manned by volunteers. A bookkeeper and a technology consultant are on contract to help keep Good Samaritans running efficiently.
Volunteers include long-time residents, retirees, "Winter Texans," local church members, and others who are willing to give their time to help others. Although from varied backgrounds, all volunteers have a single goal: to lend a hand to those in need.
Become a volunteer
We can't do what we do without volunteers! There are many varying opportunities for you to use your individual skill set to make a difference in Aransas County. Volunteers can commit to as much time as they have available - once a week, twice a month, or as much or as little time as they are willing to donate.
You CAN make a difference!
Volunteers perform a wide-range of tasks:
Our Donors
Without the generosity of our donors, we could not do what we do. Our wonderful volunteers are here to make it happen, but we need funds to do that. Donations for Rockport-Good Samaritans come from varied sources. We receive a large portion of our funds from local foundations, individuals, and churches.
Food donations also make a difference at Good Samaritans. We receive donations from individuals, food drives, and those choosing to complete their Community Service by providing food.
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED
Good Samaritans relies heavily on the Coastal Bend Food Bank for affordable food items. Currently, the food bank is experiencing shortages, and many of the items we have previously obtained from them are not available. It is now necessary for us to purchase these items at retail prices. Instead of paying less than $0.10 per can for canned vegetables, we are spending approximately $1.00 a can. You can help by donating the items listed below.

Pet food is also included on the Amazon Wish List. Many of our clients have pets, and sometimes, feed them instead of eating themselves. When pet food is available from donations, we try to take care of the fur babies, too.
Our Services
Rockport-Fulton Good Samaritans, Inc. provides a variety of services to residents of Aransas County at our Service Center at 507 S. Ann Street. To receive services, you should come to the center with a government-issued photo identification card and social security cards for each member of the family. You will meet with an interviewer who will determine the type and amount of assistance to be provided. The decision will be made in accordance with guidelines established by our Board of Directors
While we function mainly as a food pantry, Good Samaritans also provides assistance with clothing, utilities, prescriptions, health care, rent, and other essential needs. By working with other agencies, we are able to give our clients a helping hand, and hopefully help them on the way to a more productive life.
